Naked Raku Jar #1
Naked Raku Jar #1 is a raku-fired jar. Each piece in this collection was treated using slightly different techniques to create unique effects during firing. This piece in particular was fired using the naked raku process, in which the bisqued piece is burnished and carefully and selectively dipped in a thick slip that cracks during the firing and falls off after being smoked in the reduction barrel.
These fired works are intended for decorative or dry storage use. Keep out of extended direct sunlight and DO NOT place water in these vessels as low-fired pottery is not watertight.
